Take Cover - Power & Hand Tools

As mentioned before, these wire brushes spread splinters all over the garage. Even after gluing the brushes on as others suggested, I still had to put on a protective mask to keep from getting kicked by flying metal every few seconds. Brass was the worst because brass wire breaks over the adhesive area while stainless steel is held better by the adhesive. You get what you pay for I guess. Put on a face mask and vacuum afterwards so you don't chase wires around the house and your family doesn'tโ€ฆ

Does the job but self-destructs

I used them to clean road grime off my steering knuckles for 13 years when I rebuilt my Jeep's entire front suspension. I've used my dremel for work but have gone through a few of these as they self destruct during use. I would say eye protection is a MUST! And use gloves. There were a lot of metal wires stuck in my mechanical gloves trying to get out, and I was glad I had goggles on. The wires flew off those wheels at amazing speed and got caught on my forearms. It's like picking up piecesโ€ฆ

Complete garbage. Brushes literally fell apart in 0.1 seconds of use!

Received the package today. Loaded one of the smallest stainless steel brushes into my Dremel. I wanted to use a small brush to clean some of the screw holes that were showing rust and corrosion. Less than 1 second after turning the tool at minimum speed, the steel brush literally fell out of the shaft. They appear to be cheaply made, the brushes are not crimped or attached to the shank in any way other than folded and tucked into the shank. When the brushes fell out, no pressure was applied to

Surprised! Best of Buffing Pads

If you are familiar with Dremel you know it is a good product. Some would even say excellent or outstanding. I used the original wire brushes to remove the paint from the brass doorknobs. I had worn out 2 brushes on one of the two handles so I had to order them. I used copper for polishing and the wire came off the disc and got stuck in my t-shirt. I didn't know that until the tingling started. Thinking that I only need to clean the second handle, I chose the cheapest one, thinking that even if

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Easy to repair

I've tried 2 sets of these devices and there are simply better ones. I can set my speed digitally and they just can't go over 4000rpm AND can't hit an edge of the object you're working on. "Brass" flats are destroyed the fastest, "steel" the worst. The smallest ones usually do well, although they end up twisting and turning into a tightly woven bundle of grinding wires. I use a large spoked wheel on the heads and manifolds followed by a 3" wheel mounted on a drill press for general cleaning and

  • Free for educational purposes

  • Not automatic

The bristles will be flung out almost immediately if not cemented first!

As mentioned, the bristles fly out of the mandrel at a ridiculously slow rate, but to be honest real Dremel brushes don't last that long either. However, another reviewer (Geoffrey Paul) gave a great and funny tip: add cement to the bristles where they enter the mandrel and they'll last a lot longer! It used Duco cement but I had a couple of disposable tubes of super glue on hand so I tried squirting it into the mandrels and lo and behold it worked pretty well. A few bristles were still thrownโ€ฆ
