The mount is strong and securely holds my 18lb center channel. One day I went to the hardware store to buy the right hardware for wall mounting. The plastic anchors that came with it were useless. Supports no more weight than the mount itself. The screws were ok but the plastic anchors didn't work at all. I bought some sort of anchor that goes through the drywall and has a metal T shape that opens and presses firmly against the inside of the drywall. It made things very safe. Leg length increases for range as noted. Some reviews have said it won't drop to the lowest advertised value, but it will if you set it up properly. the speaker puts them on them. You have to decide for yourself whether this look bothers you. I agree as the black matches my speaker and looks ok.
