Review on Bioconductor by Brian Whitmore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bioc version 3 software suite provides easy visualization, statistics & plotting

I like that it has many functions for different types of experiments done in genomics/transcriptomic data sets such as gene expression arrays or next generation sequencing (RNA seq). It can handle very large matrices with thousands upon thousands of variables and hundreds of samples. You can even download other people's code into your own workspace without having access to their original folder structure by setting up custom environment file paths. Can be tricky when trying to figure out what order you should use all libraries at once. Sometimes if multiple versions are installed they will conflict causing errors. If there is something specific you need from this package make sure someone knows how to properly install those files! We have been using biostars database for finding useful links but sometimes find ourselves needing more specialized tools which we wouldn't get through searching bionetworks databases alone so going straight to bioconductor helps find exactly what we want faster.
