Packaging was minimal. No spacer, just a SMPS unit in a box slightly larger than the unit itself. No papers, no instructions, no invoices, nothing. I plugged the device into a 120V outlet, noticed a green LED inside the device and a fairly quiet fan. I read 11.87 VDC with my Fluke meter. I connected the Smittybilt 2781 Tire Air Compressor 12v power terminals to the SMPS output terminals and turned on the air compressor - everything is fine. For a more thorough test, I inflated one of my tires to 25psi and then aired it to about 36psi in under a minute. The maximum current draw of the Smittybilt is 45 A. The first short test was completed satisfactorily. I wish it had an on/off switch and a 12vdc setting. But not a deal breaker. Hopefully it will be sustainable in the long run.
