Solid straps - they get the job done

These straps are of good quality. I have used it several times and it works well. Anyone who has trouble releasing them under tension may be making a mistake. To release the straps, simply press the small metal latch intended for the handle (rather than the other one that can confuse people) and then open the ratcheting handle fully. They just loosen up and take the pressure off. They work really well - way better than some of the other straps I've tried. The only reason I removed the star is because of the plastic coating on the hooks. After a single use, parts of the coating cracked and fell off. They no longer offer scratch protection. Luckily I haven't given it too much thought as I plan to use them for him in the metal mounting points in my truck and it doesn't matter if they get scratched. Instead of a plastic cover, it would be better to use a high-quality rubber insert, because what's there now is literally a joke. If that doesn't bother you then this is a good deal. I just wish there was a good way to store them. It would be nice if you attached them to some sort of plastic frame to keep everything together and tidy. I'm thinking of getting a small Rubbermaid container to stow in the back of my truck. It looks like they will serve me for many years.
