The material itself is tough, not cheap. But at maximum plunge only 1/2" of the drill is exposed. I wanted closer to 3/4 You can easily adjust the height by running the drill further into the chamber, but this will give you a shallower hole than a deeper one. (Obviously you can't adjust it any other way and position the tip of the drill higher than this tool since this defeats the purpose). Also, it wobbles a bit when spinning. I'd like to mention that a previous reviewer said there is no way to replace the drill bit, but that's not true. If you loosen the height adjustment screw, you can use the drill bit remove it completely and replace with another one of the same diameter.Also I figured the tool shaft would remain stationary and only the drill bit would rotate with bearings or something and would. The entire tool rotates, which means the end of the tool rubs against the tang, causing the smaller tangs to move while you drill.
