I have a Raspberry Pi 3 (not a B+ model that supports POE HAT) that I wanted to use with POE just to avoid tangled wires and I have one Ubiquiti Unifi 48-port POE switch, so why not? This setting works great. I tried a similar product (half the price) from another vendor and it just didn't work reliably. This WiFi Texas model was very reliable and I couldn't be happier. I ordered another one for one of my other wired Raspberry Pis. It's nice that the kit has both left and right micro USB ports. I personally prefer to keep the power cord away from the HDMI port. I tied the POE splitter to my Pi and cables to keep everything in order.
