Here comes Wifi-Texas with another weird niche device to save me.

I needed to connect a Raspberry Pi to the end of an Ethernet cable, there were no outlets nearby, and my switch needed something that would work properly with 802.3af. That is the answer. Oh god, that's the answer. If I ever met a person in Wifi-Texas who decided to make this a thing, I'd give them a long, awkward hug. You never know you need it until you need it. I love you wifi texas.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Great for my Raspberry Pi 3

I have a Raspberry Pi 3 (not a B+ model that supports POE HAT) that I wanted to use with POE just to avoid tangled wires and I have one Ubiquiti Unifi 48-port POE switch, so why not? This setting works great. I tried a similar product (half the price) from another vendor and it just didn't work reliably. This WiFi Texas model was very reliable and I couldn't be happier. I ordered another one for one of my other wired Raspberry Pis. It's nice that the kit has both left and right micro USB ports.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Not sure

Get Left Angle One for Raspberry Pi

I ordered this for Raspberry Pi and realized I got the wrong right angle connector. That will work but it's not the right way so it looks unusual so I called Wi-Fi Texas and they had me swapped out to get the correct plug. So customer service was great. As for the product itself, I ordered 5 of them because I have 4 Raspberry Pis that I use as cameras and a Foscam. This worked with Foscam without using the microUSB connector (you can just remove it) and worked with a Raspberry Pi with the…

Great solution, good value for money

Have run several Pi3 Model B's over the past few weeks with no problems. Technically the Pi requires 12.5W of power for all functions to work properly, but in the right applications this will work just fine. Be careful if you want to connect a bunch of peripherals like USB devices, cameras, etc. POE-Texas / WiFi-Texas technical support is excellent.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

NICs only use Type B

Edit: So I contacted their EXTREMELY nice and helpful tech support and we found out why they weren't working. Basically most POE switches use B mode, this converter only uses A. Support new version 5 (I have version 3). Long story short they send me replacements with a tag to send them back along with the replacement parts to make them work. Excellent service and took my feedback on updating the description with luck!OLDDead out of the box. Ordered some of these for work. Also dead out of the…

  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • So far so good

Ideal for powering Raspberry Pi with PoE switches

This is great! I have so many IoT devices like Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Pine64 and many more and it makes it easy to power devices and transfer data with less wiring. I'm pretty sure most of you watching these know that you need a PoE switch or other device to power this splitter. I prefer this one because it comes with left and right micro-USB adapters, which is great for devices that have their power connector facing different directions.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • confusing

The only 5V you can overclock the Pi3 with over any PSU tested.

I bought this a few years ago and only recently started testing the overclock on the Pi3. With this PoE it is the only injector capable of overclocking and managing the power supply without flash. No other power source plugged directly into the wall was able to provide the necessary power for a proper overclock. Without this PSU and fan case all frequencies should be reduced to 100+ MHz 575#GPU Mem freq #gpu_mem=450 400 bifugpu_mem=575#SDRamsdram_freq=575#nobody knows looks cool for…
