My 4th Cygolite - Cycling

This is my 4th Cygolite Metro Light in the last 4 or 5 years. I have them on several bikes and have given them away to friends. I don't know how to improve this light. Super durable, easy to charge and gives a great shooting pattern. I would like to clear up some misunderstandings. • The mount allows approximately 10 degrees of adjustment in either direction. It is held in place with a Phillips machine screw and metal nut. It may need to be tightened from time to time. To permanently attach it in one direction, simply tighten (it's metal and won't rub off) or use a dab of CA or other threadlocker. You can even remove the screw and rotate the mount 180° to make room for cables etc. • If required, the flashlight can be powered by an external mobile phone backup battery. Very convenient. Drive all night. • It charges via a mini USB port, just like the Garmin 705. The flashlights now come with a charging cable. The ones I bought a few years ago were cordless. • Batteries last 2.5 years and are replaceable. Cygolite will replace them for a fee. If you know how to solder, they can easily be replaced with a tabbed 18650 lithium cell. The battery management IC is mounted on a nickel rod that is welded at each end. It is very easy to cut off the entire tab and solder to a conventional metal tab battery. I usually replace the 2200mah packs that come with the flashlights with larger Panasonic 3400mah batteries. • 500-600 lumen lamps are usually cheaper and THIS IS ALL YOU NEED FOR NIGHT DRIVING. Every morning I take the train through the forest without the outside lights on. I only use medium settings (350 lumens?). The last light I had was 850 lumens. Although they are noticeably brighter, additional lighting is simply not needed. The beam shape and performance of these lamps is excellent. The medium setting is bright enough to cruise 20+ mph. The close-up image illuminates the obstacles on the trail while being wide enough to see the eyeballs on the side of the trail. Deer and rabbits running on the trail bother me where I'm driving. • Additional means of transport are available. Buy one for each bike • Slightly turn the light out of the way and slightly down out of respect for oncoming pedestrians • Don't be an idiot and don't ride on bike lanes with your flash on. This dazzles oncoming drivers and does not contribute to your safety. • Units turn on in the same mode they were turned off. Pressing the button while the flashlight is on will cycle through 5 different modes of operation. • Turning on the flashlight by holding the power button for a few seconds puts the flashlight into low-intensity "bypass mode”. Ideal for camping or tent hunting at night • The devices are waterproof and durable. Rain doesn't stop them. Only broke once in 4 years of use when I dropped it on the pavement at 20mph.
