Review on Dunham Men's Slip-On Loafers Captain Boat Shoes in Brown by Tony Francis

I've had this shoe before and liked the comfort and fit, but this model has some serious problems. First, the shoe has a serious design flaw. The laces are sewn on and not interchangeable! The laces wrap completely around the heel like real moccasins, but are sewn to the heel. If your shoelaces wear out like mine, the shoes are useless. When this first happened, New Balance kindly replaced the shoes. The second time the shoes were quite worn out so I just bought a new pair. That's when I discovered the second problem. After wearing the shoe for a week (a week!), the leather ripped along the stitching at the base of the tongue on the left boot. Ok no problem, I sent the Revain shoes back and got another pair. The 2nd pair came loose in the same spot on the right shoe BEFORE I GET THE SHOES ON MY FOOT! Just opening the shoe brought tears to my eyes. Now I have to return the second pair as well, this time for a refund. It looks like the NB has some manufacturing issues (you can see some of the stitching is broken a bit which actually loosens the leather as it crosses the pre-punched holes). where the pieces are sewn together) as much as I loved this shoe when I first bought it a few years ago, I will never buy it again.
