They do what they have to do. Quite easy. I've found that it's not a big deal to worry about what needle size they fit. They seem to work well with small or large needles because they are rubbery and therefore flexible. If color is important to you, this might not be the best choice. The ones in the photo are beautiful and different colors but the ones I have are orange and pale green. Of course that's subjective, but I find the colors ugly. They're needle caps, though, so aesthetics don't matter unless you have another reason colors are important to you.
