These shock absorbers are easy to install on your Mercury Mariner (like the Ford Escape). I watched a YouTube video on shock replacement to see how to remove the inner panels and it was a breeze. After removing the interior panels, you only need to unscrew 2 screws. A word of caution: do not remove the plastic tether until you are ready to install it; Then use thick string wrapped top and bottom to squeeze these shocks together, then install the bottom bolt and release the string to allow the shock to fit the top mounting hole. Once in the top mounting hole, put on the rubber grommet, washer and nut. I've ridden my Mariner over 110,000 miles and these dampers have definitely improved the ride quality. No more jumping up and down after negotiating a bump.
