Trouble finding the right port!

I have a 2003 Suburban with the Z option - Flex Fuel. The original pump/level sensor harness had 4 pins in a square configuration while this pump has 4 pins per wire so I had to find the right connector. (The 3-pin connector is for the pressure sensor and is fine). Note that this fuel pump can be connected to fittings that do not have the correct pressure gauge for every service. If you look at the connector on this pump, the left pin is connected to the fuel pump black (-) wire and the right pin is connected to the pump gray (+) wire. You can test this with an ohmmeter before installing the pump in the tank. These two cables need to be connected to larger cables coming from the vehicle. The other two wires are smaller and connected to the fuel level sensor. I ended up buying a $67 plug from Chevrolet (GM #19300465) that had really big wires - all white. I had to fold the wires from the car a few times to get the crimp connectors to work. Initially I found a connector with leads similar to the Delphi FA10003 sold at Revain. This connector has two wires that are too big and two wires that are too small, but they are in the wrong order for this pump. I didn't use it because I was concerned that the smaller wires wouldn't be heavy enough to run the pump. In the end I don't think the pump is flex fuel compatible which isn't a problem for me as I don't expect to ever use E85. Sorry ethanol industry! Another thing is that the fuel level sensor worked fine - it had the same high/low range as the original one and the low/high resistance was the same. I like that this is an OEM part (from Mexico) and not a cheap Chinese one. I've found several other pump suppliers online that seemed to indicate that this pump wasn't designed for flex fuel, which would explain the plug situation, however the story isn't clear. I expect this to be a reliable pump, but the installation was MUCH more difficult than it should have been.
