Review on High-Performance DEWALT Diamond Blade for Masonry, 7-Inch – DW4712B by Dusty Wonsley

I bought this to convert my unit into a built in BBQ grill. This involved cutting a 10" x 36" hole in a stone veneer wall with steel wire reinforcement and some thick metal framing. This blade cut through them all and shows no significant wear. Yesterday I had to cut about 1" off the end of a 3" x 8" x 26" slab of sandstone. This blade went through it in about 2 minutes. I had to finish the last piece with a Sawzall diamond blade but the circular diamond blade goes through the material about 10 times faster, so it speeds up the whole job.During the installation of the grill I had to cut a 1.5" thick slab of granite, about 12" long and 3" long on each side of the grill. A circular saw I bought from Amazon for $16 that worked great. Yes, dust kills bearings, but with occasional use I'd be surprised if I couldn't cut another 80 hours on a cheap saw. Having a 4.5 inch diamond blade for a standard angle grinder, which cost me $19, is also very useful for detail and fine work. I also found that some of the cuts were too difficult to make with circular saws or grinders, so I used an 8 inch diamond grit Sawzall blade that cost $13 and a cheap Sawzall that cost $19. The job would be difficult without all three tools. The only complaint is that the brass washer is easy to lose and fell off center the first time you change the blade. This is not a big problem, but you will need to manually install the brass washer before installing the saw's support washer. I used a large ziplock bag to hold the saw blade and spacer together for the next job.
