Review on πŸš€ High-performance MSI MAG B550M Bazooka Gaming Motherboard - Unleash the Power of AMD AM4 CPUs with DDR4, PCIe 4.0, and Cutting-Edge Features! by Viswanath Lopez

First I got a defective block. The system works well with spares.

The first PC manufacturer. I built my system and used my friend's graphics card (Geforce 1050ti) for the setup process as mine hadn't arrived in the mail yet (and my CPU didn't have integrated graphics). The computer worked great for 2 days and I returned the card to my friend. My card came in the mail (ASUS Radeon RX580) and once installed it started a reboot cycle. Sometimes I was able to get past the Windows 10 login screen, but shortly after that the computer restarted and booted back to the Windows 10 login screen (no BSOD). After checking the event viewer, I saw a critical kernel power failure (event 41) and decided it was a power issue. After the replacement the problem persisted. To rule out the CPU and RAM, I ran a CPU and Memtest stress test. When both failed, I decided it was a graphics card issue. I got a replacement from the supplier but it took a long time and I lost patience and ordered a cheap GT 710. When the problem persisted I figured it must be the motherboard. So I requested a replacement and rebuilt the system and now it's working fine. The product is great, but I am writing a review based on my bad experience (and after reading other reviews it seems that this reboot loop issue is a common problem). It's worth noting that I tested the RX580 on a friend's system to see if it was the graphics card and it didn't work on his system either. So I either have a defective graphics card AND a defective motherboard or a defective motherboard destroyed my card (perhaps a defective PCIe slot?). If this is the case, this issue can become VERY expensive for customers.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Hard to remember, but it was
