We use them to cook a variety of grilled foods, mainly those that don't cook well directly on the grill, such as crab legs, shrimp, stuffed chicken breasts, etc. The pans are good durable and do not need to be washed. Just throw them in the trash. The lids are cardboard so don't get hot, but are better for storing food in a saucepan. If we need a lid for what we're cooking, my husband just uses a second pot upside down on the first. The edges of the foil can be taped together to hold the top in place.
