Review on OXO Good Grips Pro Nonstick Dishwasher Safe Black Frying Pan, 8 Inch - Cooking Made Easy! by Darren Pham

Comparing my 8 " OXO to my old 8 " Calphalon

Great nonstick pan but some balance issues (see video). When I'm empty I have to move the pan on top of the stove to keep it from tipping over. It doesn't seem to be a problem if there is food in the pot. Maybe it's the handle to pan weight ratio, or maybe it's the ridge on the outer bottom of the OXO pan that my Calphalon pan doesn't have (see picture). I compared the OXO to my old Calphalon pan - both 8". The flat surface of the OXO pan is also slightly smaller (about 5 1/2 inches) than my old Calphalon pan (about 6 1/4". inches - see picture). I really like the OXO 8" because I usually only use it to boil eggs and it's absolutely perfect for that, although I think the pan is a bit pricey given the smaller cooking surface. I still use my Calphalon, but the surface isn't as narrow as any stick, so I use it to cook other dishes. I also have a non-stick OXO 12-inch pan that I just LOVE and has no balancing issues. All in all I would buy an 8 inch OXO pan again.
