Review on BTECH Mini UV 25X2 Mobile Radio by James Townsend

I bought the radio to replace another HF/VHF mobile radio. This radio actually works as advertised with the exception of one feature which is REQUIRED for a mobile ham radio. The display is practically invisible in daylight and the display brightness cannot be adjusted. Also, the PTT button volume is so loud it hurts, but the only way to control it is to turn off the beep. My experience with the radio in my car was that I can see absolutely NO detail on the display while driving because I thought I could tune the frequencies and forget about the display, but turning the horn off didn't throw me out of the car When I didn't have to use the PTT buttons, I accidentally touched the button. Then when I got a call from the repeater I thought I would answer the call but I unknowingly changed the transmit frequency and didn't hear the beeps so I was on a different frequency. Nice little radio for a base station, but NOT ready for prime time.
