Wow. I have a closet full of pro cinema gear, but I've added a GoPro Silver and an EVO GP-Pro stabilizer to it. This mic has turned this rig into an excellent compact vlogging rig, but it can also double as an interview rig thanks to the amazing sound of this directional mic. It does an excellent job of blocking out ambient noise. To install it on the EVO I used the EVO quick release extension mount. This QR mount holds the VideoMicro Shock Shoe, and the microphone can be easily removed and rotated 180 degrees for the VLOG position and then the interview position. I used the MXL MM-C003GP audio cable. It's all a bit flexible and can sometimes overwhelm the gimbal motors, but after I cleaned up the MXL adapter by plugging the socket into the mini USB port at a 90 degree angle (pointing up). , it has greatly improved things. It would be ideal if RODE offered a cable for this model that could be plugged directly into the GoPro's mini-USB. Still gets 5 stars for great sound from an affordable shock mount mic. Sound like my expensive mics? no But they can't compete with this VideoMicro in terms of size, weight and portability.
