Review on Argon NEO Case: Type-C Power Supply for Raspberry Pi 4 with Cooling Fan, Camera, and LCD Display Support - Accessible GPIO and PoE Pins by Justin Cage

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good case, could be perfect but.

Beautiful case and I love how it's made. Here are its shortcomings for my use: - The thick part with the camera mount is too thick and fits too close to the 4 pins where the poe connectors should be connected. This meant the Loverpi Poe hat I had could not be used as it needed about 1mm more. I'm not 100% sure if the poe cap is tight enough since the center of the case is higher than the base of the pin headers. Also, I'd have to modify it to get rid of the pins sticking out of the alternate power connectors sticking out the side and put some insulation on the back of the other component. Access to the GPIO pins is great, except it only works if you remove the top case. There is no way they can be directed from above to a more permanent mission. With the top on the airflow would be terrible and you wouldn't be able to add a fan to add active cooling. I bought one with 18 watts. Power adapter as I think I can't get my PoE powered hat to work and am frustrated with PoE right now. I only needed this for a "clean" installation in my wiring closet. And since I can't put the top of the case on as I have lots of GPIO wires connected to multiple single wire circuits, this will never be pretty. Would definitely rate it 5 stars if: - It could work with some Poe hats - A permanent line for GPIO cables installed with the top of the case.
