205/45 R17 is the original tire size. Two years was a long time for a native Michelin; three or four hernias on the wheel meant early death. They followed that up with an order for profile 45 Kumho ECSTA Sport tires. Excellent hard sports tires; cheap, wonderfully long-lasting, but noisy and uncomfortable; shocks to the suspension; ball joints to be replaced annually. Then came Yokohama C. Drive2, but in a softer 50 profile. New tires have a pleasant silence. As they put it on, they start to hum. Kumho-like in its resistance. And now Maxiss is Yokohama's ease, only it keeps its twists better and doesn't get stuck in a rut when it speaks. No hernias were reported during the entire season. I suggest you travel to Asia, perhaps to Thailand, to get your "pig in a poke" and open your mind to new ideas. You can find Maxxis Store, which sells tires for all kinds of equipment, if you drive a few ways away from the typical tourist areas.
