Learn a little

I ordered a red TPU for Christmas along with a 3rd party PLA for my new Ender 3, I received my ender on Christmas Eve before work and was able to run it for test prints, I ended up with the free Pla sample used without error afterwards of course bed alignment. Then I started using SAINSMART Red TPU which was a disaster. The TPU clogged my first nozzle which led me to YouTube to find out what I did wrong. It required a completely different heating and set-up speed. So I switched to the backup jet and tried to clear the first one and finally managed to do a single print, a repeat of my Pla test model but in TPU. This was my only success with a half TPU reel. may be a bad product but I won't be buying TPU again in the near future. Beginners like me should stay on the PLA side. My only regret is that I didn't understand the difference between TPU and PLA before purchasing.

Pros
  • SAINSMART thread is made of 100% TPU. TPU is essentially polyurethane and belongs to the TPE class of thermoplastics. Recommended for printing objects that are affected more than normal.
Cons
  • Very expensive
