I broke 2 rotary taps before purchasing. Although I have not used it in a drill press, I have used it successfully by hand on over a dozen aluminum V-groove taps. I did it by hand rather than with a drill because I was concerned about the warning in the previous post about having a perfectly clean unthreaded M5 hole. The handspin was a little hard on the hands, but this one was stronger than the other two and did the job.
