Okay, I'm old - I have hundreds of records from the mid 60's to the 80's. They sit on my shelves and I look longingly at my old friends from 50 years ago - I've got all the digital gear, I've tried a tube amp but what I longed for was my old teenage turntable. The one with only a few buttons but could play Led Zeppelin loud enough for my dad to come upstairs during Whole Lotta Love to break a record on his knee ;-) It's a blast from the past - I've dug up albums with a musty smell, and they play well despite scratches and dirt. I am enthusiastic and love the analog sound. I wonder if some of the sound quality complaints are from people who grew up listening to digital audio? Anyway, I love it - simplicity, sound and nostalgia. I've tried preamps, tube amps and all sorts of complex arrangements, but apparently I have simple tastes because that excites me.
