Review on SilverStone F1 Monaco S radar detector by nh Bnh ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice price, good quality.

The device in and of itself is of very high quality; but, before purchasing, you must pay careful attention to the following: 1) If the store has electricity (for example, a cigarette lighter), test the functionality of the gadget by plugging it into the power source. And moreover how the buttons are pressed on it. Ideally, they should be able to walk both ways! Alternatively, check in the car (before paperwork). You could also ask a member of the store's staff to accompany you to your vehicle. If you return back to the store within ten days of making the purchase with buttons that are damaged, you will be eligible for a warranty check. like me. ( (2) Plug a second device into the socket at the back of the cigarette lighter. This will prevent the side edges of the lighter from squeezing the power wires. (I guessed about it, having rebuilt these three adapters, when the wire on the third one was already exposed). 3) Do not attach the suction cup mount to the gadget by putting it in there (then barely pull it out). It is preferable to make an immediate purchase of merely a sticky mat, just one that is tighter.) Because I purchased a thin one, it removes the panel along with the device when it is removed. (addition dated 04/10/2022 - since this rug comes off together with the device, I laid on it the main part from the unused "smartphone holder" that holds the smartphone in the car and has sliding side frames. I then washed down its lower part with a hacksaw (a round plastic ledge, thereby making a flat platform and laid it "forever")) this holder on the rug. The "smartphone holder" has made it possible for me to quickly and effortlessly insert and remove the device. Yet, the fact that the device has some unappealing characteristics did not in the least bit play a role in my choice to decline purchasing it. And when the decision came up for the guarantee, I changed it (having already reviewed everything to make sure it was as it should be), and I decided against taking the money. I adore the way that it operates! The most important thing is to steer clear of the bottlenecks that I highlighted! Update (May 2022): the screw that is supposed to secure the wheel that is used to adjust the volume and turn the gadget on and off has a tendency to unscrew itself! (Judging by the reviews, I do not have one). As a result, it is essential to disassemble the casing on a regular basis (at least once a year) and twist it more firmly.

Pros
  • To this point, the performance of the radar that was replaced because it was defective has been adequate. Everything works out wonderfully.
Cons
  • And now some disadvantages: After making the purchase, it was discovered that the buttons on the device itself did not function properly. After the purchase (of the first gadget), it started functioning properly, spoke all of the information, and updated the database and firmware via the program installed on the computer. It was discovered, however, that the buttons on the device itself do not operate at all! In addition to that, the suction cup mount was difficult to disengage from the gadget. I had to struggle for an entire hour in order to turn it off! (I invested in a low-cost adhesive mat. Tough square lindens are included in the kit. They are fastened together with double-sided tape on the back, which, when attempting to remove the device from the panel, caused the tape to remain on the panel itself. As a result, the device, as well as the square lindens that were fastened together, were torn off. And still further! On the other side of the power plug is another input socket (for a DVR or something else). But! The internal wiring has a design flaw that hinders the connecting of a second device of some kind. The problem has been solved (see comments) As the warranty had expired by the time the problem occurred (in May 2022), I had to take it apart and hand-tighten the screw that was attached to the volume increase wheel. And simultaneously (!) the wires inside the power plug started to fray (where another plug from the navigator was inserted). I had to unscrew it in order to solder it back together. It appears like a trivial matter, but it could have unfavorable consequences: what if the screw that was unscrewed closed something? Despite the fact that nobody has had any concerns regarding the way the device actually works.
