I'm satisfied, it's a good purchase.

I will share my impressions when switching from i5-3470s to i5-9600k. The previous one I bought 6 years ago, I decided to upgrade while there is a financial opportunity. I took the 9600k model because the solder and the frequencies were high out of the box, I did not overclock it. Here are the test results when moving from i5-3470s to i5-9600k (both without overclocking). I measured it as follows - I launched 3DMARK Sky Diver and then looked at the results in msi afterburner. So: 3DMARK Sky Diver Physics score: 6402 -> 13287, max cpu temperature: 55 -> 66 (cooler - thermalright le grand macho without fan), max CPU power consumption: 38.2 -> 82.6 W price for which it was bought: 6050r. ($197) (March 2022) -> 18800r. ($289) (May 2022) both OEM That is, what we have: an interval of 6 years, the price is 1.5 times higher (if you look at it in dollars). The speed is 2 times higher (in some tests the gap is larger), but due to the fact that it consumes 2 times more energy. This is 14 nm versus 22 nm. It seems that further performance growth is possible only with an increase in power consumption! I want to add about the RAM. In March 2022, I bought 16GB DDR3 for 2280, now the same 16GB DDR4 for 6500, memory of the same class - from the cheapest, from the same manufacturer. Everyone is yelling that the RAM is getting cheaper ? For 6 years, the same volume has only become more expensive. In general, iron prices have become simply terrible, technological progress stands still, it seems that something is moving on video cards, but then, apparently, everything will also stop if they don’t come up with something fundamentally new.

Pros
  • Nothing special
Cons
  • Very expensive
