Several reviews say cheese and chocolate burn easily. This would be possible with any direct heating.

Several reviews say cheese and chocolate burn easily. This would be possible in any directly fired fondue pot. However, this is a good size to turn into a steamer. We usually make a 3-course fondue (cheese, broth, chocolate) with this one pot: Fill the fondue pot with water to just below the screws on the handle. Throw in a bowl (we use it very successfully: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000050AV3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and add cheese. This is how a steam cooker is created for your cheese. We usually set the temperature to 4 and that keeps the temperature nice so the cheese keeps the perfect consistency. Then lift the bowl and drain the water. Fill it with broth or oil and cover with a lid. Repeat the chocolate cheese trick. 3-course menu, a pot of fondue, the pot must not be washed between meals. We have a problem with the fork length. We use an extension cord although they don't say so. This cable is too short, not short. I think the manufacturer laughed out loud at the evil genius when they put that on the label. We've tested the thing in the dishwasher and so far so good.
