I'm not a builder (although I've used it to build a built in entertainment center) so I can't talk too much about construction applications. I've been using these screws for a while and wouldn't go back to lag screws! They are very easy to drive and rarely share a 2X4. They are extremely strong. Heads are never ripped off. And they look pretty good outdoors (I've used them to make all my studio shelves and tables). Even with extremely heavy use (for those of you who know what it's like to wedge 40 pounds of relatively dry clay, I used them to build a wedge table) they don't weaken. I highly recommend them.
