Doesn't read correctly. Using a brass-ended rubber hose to connect to the pressure gauge will leak at the connection, resulting in inaccurate readings. When I switched to an all-aluminum tube with a rubber tip, the pressure increased. After further research I saw that the end of the aluminum tube that connects to the pressure gauge is slightly longer than the rubber hose with the brass connector that connects to the pressure gauge, creating a tighter seal. The illustration shows how much shorter the brass fitting is compared to the aluminum fitting.
