Too fragile
Probably good for most small beginner projects, definitely a good price to start with. You will get a worthy benefit from it. I bought this 1/8 inch chain set to use as a mini bench. Unfortunately, the tip broke three times in one day, making shallow cuts (<1/16 inch) in the poplar. I gave up after that. While sharpened fairly well, the steel is too brittle for my needs. I have not sharpened or used any of the other parts in the kit, although they will likely work well for shallow carving in softer woods.
