In typical SparkFun fashion, this OpenLog has excellent documentation on their website. I jumped up and was running within minutes. Everything on the board speaks for itself - all pins have useful labels. The LEDs were a nice touch too, so you'll know right away if it's working. Overall performance was excellent and there were no problems writing data at 115200 baud. It would have been a perfect product if it wasn't for the SD card slot which felt pretty flimsy. My suspicions were confirmed when it broke after a few uses and ran out of cards. Luckily, SparkFun's customer service helped me find a replacement part in a short amount of time. As such, it's a great compact way to add serial data logging to your project, although some improvements could be made to its longevity.
