Product not working

I suggest buying HiLetgo Micro SD TF Card Reader Module 6pin SPI Interface Driver Module instead. It's cheaper and works.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Concerns me

Cheap SD card holder

The third time the SD card was inserted, a click was heard and the SD card no longer held. Now I have to wrap a tie around the registrar to hold the card. Very cheap quality.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Weak setting

Easy to use. - Computer Components

I use this to log device debugging results in the field so I don't have to be present when data is collected. I only have two minor issues that users should be aware of. Firstly, recording fails to start after being turned on for a little over 1 second. Second, it doesn't seem to be able to support a stable 115200 baud rate. I think this is affected by the speed of the SD card; but have not used any cards that can do the full 115200 baud. Otherwise it's pretty much plug and play as long as you…

Cheap, simple and effective

This little board is great. In just a few hours it wrote the serial data from my Arduino to the SDCard. I started following SparkFun's instructions to upload a new program through the FTDI interface adapter, but quickly found that the built-in program was all I needed, allowing me to start using it right away. You can connect the TX/RX pins directly to the corresponding RX/TX pins on the Arduino (or other TTL serial data stream), and it will automatically write the data to a LOG file on the SD…

Pros

  • Out of fashion

Easy to install, note SD card slot

In typical SparkFun fashion, this OpenLog has excellent documentation on their website. I jumped up and was running within minutes. Everything on the board speaks for itself - all pins have useful labels. The LEDs were a nice touch too, so you'll know right away if it's working. Overall performance was excellent and there were no problems writing data at 115200 baud. It would have been a perfect product if it wasn't for the SD card slot which felt pretty flimsy. My suspicions were confirmed…
