Although made for strawberries, it's also great for hard-boiled eggs and bananas. I bought this food slicer because instead of wires it has blades that cut. If you just want to chop eggs, wires are fine. But when you get to tougher foods like strawberries, grape tomatoes, grapes, hot dogs, bananas, etc., the wire soon breaks. This food slicer cuts everything because of the blades. So far this has worked very well for me. I highly recommend it.
