If you just want to chop eggs, wires are fine. But when you get to tougher foods like strawberries, grape tomatoes, grapes, hot dogs, bananas, etc., the wire soon breaks. This food slicer cuts everything because of the blades. So far this has worked very well for me. I highly recommend it.

I love this gadget. It is ideal for thinly slicing strawberries, salads, desserts and drinks. I usually hate single purpose kitchen appliances because storing them in cabinets and drawers is expensive. So I hesitated to try when I can just cut them with a knife. But wow, that's amazing. The only complaint I can have (if you can call it that) is that it's difficult to clean the inside of the white plastic part where the razors are located.
