UPDATE: Unfortunately 3 out of 4 strands stopped working within a few days, one strand after one night. Tried different brands of batteries, nothing. I'm in Florida so the temperature wasn't bad and they are under a very massive tree so they don't get in the elements at all. In theory they are great and simple, but in reality they are very disappointing. They have such good reviews but I'm wondering if anything has changed in their production for this holiday season because they aren't working properly. Old review: you look really cute. but out of the 4 i bought: 2/4 - work fine, look good but the timer function doesn't work - they turn off after 6 hours but don't turn on automatically after 18 hours (working for almost 3 days, so I have to use them turn it on every night - not that hard but still) 1/4 - worked fine the first night but stopped working altogether after that, changed the batteries to see if that was the problem but they just won. 1/4 don't turn it back on - haven't threaded them yet as a non-working kit ruined the intended design so I'll figure out something else and string them soon. I hope they tune in.
