This is great for a Romex extension without using a junction box

This is great for a Romex extension without using a junction box. It comes with a template to help you cut and place the wires. The cover is transparent so you can see the wires are properly placed in front of the terminal. Everything worked fine the first time I engaged the clutch and applied power. Electrical codes generally don't allow you to hide a junction box behind drywall, so this connector is a satisfactory way to do it (but you may need to check your local codes to be sure). Even if there is a connection, the connector is significantly less work than installing a box.
