Review on APPS2Car Windshield Telescopic Replacement StreetPilot by Jason Winkfield

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Universal. Very functional. good value

This solved the problem for me. The standard windshield mount placed the device too far away when mounted low enough not to obstruct the view. The reach of the arm when this unit is extended allowed me to mount it low enough that the unit sits on the edge of the dash and about 1/4 inch above it. That's great considering the extreme tilt of my 2006 Corvette's windshield. This device is very firmly attached to my windshield. My Garmin doesn't wobble at all on regular pavement and VERY little on rough roads. Contrary to another reviewer's experience, I find that the effort required to telescope one hand is more than enough to operate my Garmin Drive Smart 55's touchscreen without disturbing the position of the device. This does not mean that such a required effort is something excessive. I have noticed that the device is not sticking to my dashboard. In fact, even after a thorough cleaning with alcohol, the 3M disc did not stick to the dashboard. I don't blame the device or the 3M drive for this. I suspect there's just so much shell-only on it that nothing sticks to it. je. In general, I am very satisfied with the device. If, as is often the case with suction cup mounts, this loses its stickiness over time, I would definitely buy it again. (if it doesn't happen soon)
