Excellent food safe product! Popped Crazy Grain Nice!

When working with wood I'm always looking for the best oil finishes I can find and I've tried many! I usually make hardwood furniture and apply several coats of hand rubbed pure tung oil; It creates a satin finish that shows off the grain of the wood beautifully and still allows the wood to look like natural wood. Sometimes I make small gifts for my family and friends. Shown here is a curly maple cutting board I made for friends for Christmas. I've tried many cutting board finishes and while they may hold up well, they don't seem to convey the beauty of the wood grain, especially when heavily patterned. I am very pleased with how this food grade mineral oil brings out the beauty of the grain; Close up it really looks 3D! It's lower viscosity than most food products I've tried, I applied probably 7-8 thick coats to each side of the board, one at a time, and they all got rubbed in with my fingers! The wood just kept soaking it up, which surprised me as I sanded the figured maple to 400 grit. When the wood seemed sodden and the oil had settled on it in a couple of spots on both sides, I let it sit for an hour and with a polished with a soft cloth. Before use, it must be soaked and dried for a day or two. It is best to simply wipe the board with a damp sponge and as little detergent as possible. I have given my friends a small jar of this restorative oil in case dry spots appear on the road. I can't confirm how it's holding up yet, but I'll be reaching out to my friends for an update in the future. It's such a beautiful finish I'm almost tempted to try it out on a small table to see how it holds up and use extra coats like furniture polish to get the finish, but the cost effectiveness can drop on larger items be trouble. . Try it, you won't be disappointed!
