Each of the four has been tested by flipping side C on a charged device to ensure USB-C works no matter which side is plugged in. All four adapters worked flawlessly with the Micro-B cable. Determine how well an attached chain with two lobster clasps on a keychain/purse/etc. holds up as stated in seller's description but this is irrelevant for our purposes. FWIW, the chain and clasps feel strong and functional. Are there bandwidth issues compared to an unmatched USB-C cable configuration? IDK and we do not test parallel to the measurement whether it is a question of charging or data transfer, but it goes without saying that the data throughput is limited by many considerations. If you want to learn more about USB in general or specific aspects, the wiki on the subject is pretty comprehensive. Anyway, what we do know is that we've successfully used each of these adapters to charge a phone that's new to us and requires USB-C connectivity, despite not having the right USB-C cable. As previously mentioned, we did NOT perform any data transfer, so we cannot comment on the usefulness of this adapter in this regard. When we get to testing the data transfer I'll update the review. ---*UPDATE*Data transfers just fine, although I did it with no problems. I took about 70 photos for work and I needed to get them onto my computer in a more efficient way than, say, emailing them. As mentioned in the review, I don't have the device's original cable, but with this connector I was able to connect the phone to the PC easily and quickly, recognizing it almost immediately and forcing the phone to adjust to data transfer, rather than charging , and voila! - All photos are now on PC. I was relieved and impressed by this little adapter that once again did its job brilliantly! due to the always horrendous loading times and the lack of a suitable cable. Add to this that they reach at least $1.47 each since we bought them as Prime members and if you want the option to swap the ubiquitous Micro-B cable with the newer USB on the way out To use C connector on the market, this is not a problem.
