A big improvement over so-called NO-SPILL spouts

This really matches the 5 gallon gas canisters sold at Walmart. If you look closely at these glasses you will see that they are made by the Scepter company which appears to be the manufacturer of these spouts. Some other grommet manufacturers claim to have a "one size fits all" but I had to send back the one that made that claim because it just didn't fit. The best thing about these scepter spouts is that they are self-venting. You're letting air flow back into the glass as you pour. Many modern glasses don't have vents, so this feature is useful. In case you don't know, the US federal government has required manufacturers to produce and provide "NO SPILL" spouts for cans manufactured within the last 7-10 years. . I've tried three brands of these "No Spill" nozzles and they were all fun. They either don't work at all or break quickly. They are too hard and too short to fill the car with gas! How stupid is that?! Hop into the scepter spout, which lets you pour gas anywhere. And because it's simple and reliable, you actually spill little or no gas! The spout is fairly small, so the fill speed can be annoyingly slow, like trying to pour 5 gallons into a car's gas tank. However, it is suitable for filling slowly and in a controlled manner, so with a little patience it is suitable for filling cars, generators, lawn mowers, etc.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Little repairability
