I'm writing this as someone with no electrical experience, rather I'm writing this as a homeowner who needs to fix the occasional minor problem. . This unit seems a bit pricey compared to what's out there (for what you get), but for a homeowner's basic needs, it works well for me. We had problems with our solar system. Note that the vendor's ability to troubleshoot was poor at best and the process of sourcing technology etc is lengthy. Luckily our utility company came out when they saw our system was down. A simple blown fuse that we can replace. Even though he turned everything off, he said nothing is dead until it's checked for dead. First chance to use this multimeter! When the new fuse arrived, I checked that it wasn't active (the tool showed everything was dead), plugged in the fuse, turned on power to the circuit breakers and we were ready to go. Fiddling around with electricity always makes me nervous, so making sure there was no risk of an accident made me feel a lot better. Worked very well for my needs as a simple homeowner, but for professional use I would prefer others.
