Beautiful design, ease of use. Both sides of the clamshell exterior fold out from the connection on the back of the blades for easy access. Well embossed protectors around the screws. The wires then run through two channels and meet at the exit on the back. Simple solid construction. I bought this to make an extension cord for my Edison light bulb. Using Creative Hobbies® Gold Rayon Fabric Covered Electric Lamp Cord with End Cap, Bare Ends, Ready to Plug In - 8 feet, SPT-2 UL Listed. When closing the clamshell it was quite tight. 18ga fit perfectly. The wire is not accidentally pulled out from behind. The energy required for this has nothing to do with electricity. I was more concerned about crimping the wire too tight, so I didn't twist it all the way. Very strong connection. Good buy with Prime, looks good. Was looking for a vintage look it doesn't have but this works because it draws little attention. I could change the crimp to have less force but thought it was ok.
