So the instructions I saw were to use a chisel to get the job done. I landed with a crowbar and hit with a hammer. After struggling for 20 minutes I ordered it. This made installing one strut and removing and installing another strut insanely easy. Anyone who writes about work without a job is crazy. Worked great for removing A-pillars on a 2012 VW Beetle. If you've read this review before, then you probably know you need this tool, so just order it ASAP so you have it. I don't have tools to compare this, but it opened up the split to the perfect amount and stayed in place for removal and installation.
