used it to open the strut mounts and steering knuckle to loosen the wishbone. Having worked both sides of the car, then decided I needed new steering knuckles and did the job again, this tool shows no signs of wear. Maybe the black has faded a bit. but there are no cuts or dents so I'm very impressed. Worked on Audi A4 B8.

Insert this tool, fit the ratchet and turn. Amazing what a fraction of a millimeter is when working with rackmounts like this. Therein lies the problem. The tool is made of a harder metal, which ensures a long service life. However, the strut mount is aluminum (at least on BMWs) and if you have to use it multiple times, the tool will gouge the aluminum. This forces you to move the instrument to a new location. Eventually you will run out of spots.

So the instructions I saw were to use a chisel to get the job done. I landed with a crowbar and hit with a hammer. After struggling for 20 minutes I ordered it. This made installing one strut and removing and installing another strut insanely easy. Anyone who writes about work without a job is crazy. Worked great for removing A-pillars on a 2012 VW Beetle.
