Review on πŸ”ͺ Enhance Your DW734 Planer with DEWALT Planer Blades (DW7342) by Sam Bell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Respectable. Better than Powertech replacement IMO.

I have tried Powertech blades. These will probably last longer. I have also used Infinity Blades, they are much better. Thicker, longer, but a lot more money. I think you can even get away with sharpening Infinity blades once or twice (this destroys the depth of cut sensors as they can't be adjusted). I'll try to sharpen my Infinity and Dewalt blades. I've read that the key is to remove as little material as possible and do all three operations evenly. Just take a look. Powertech blades wore more unevenly and broke more easily. I think they cost 15-20€ more. If infinities can be sharpened twice, I'll probably do them again. It was a worthy award for a Dewalt.

Pros
  • Designed for use with DW734 12-1/2" Thicknesser
