The blades work great and the plane is a great tool

The blades work great and the plane is a great tool. The only issue I've ever had with these blades is that twice when I ordered them they sent them to me in large padded envelopes instead of boxes. These are small, thin blades and mishandling in such packaging can easily cause them to bend and become unusable. Also, they are very sharp, and when they come out of the packaging, they could easily cut through the envelope and any hand that touches them. However, the product itself is what I'mโ€ฆ

Good but not great.

The price varies a lot and it looks like I bought it at a high price which was a shame. I have to say this was an upgraded blade from the original single edged blade. I was expecting an increase in performance. I wouldn't say it brought the machines' performance back to 'like new' levels. It's more than 70% of what it used to be, but definitely better than old worn out blades. I believe I installed correctly as I paid close attention and double checked my work. It just seems that the machineโ€ฆ

The blades became blunt after a few boards on the first day of use.

The original blades that came with my planer lasted 3 years and cut hundreds of feet through pine and cedar planks. I bought these blades instead of the cheaper ones thinking they would be the same quality as the originals. These blades dulled after a few 6 inch cedar planks. During the first cuts I noticed that the front of the boards was not smooth, they had lines, like a vinyl record. I'm trying not to shoot too much material at once (1/32"-1/16") and the blades are properly adjusted and the

Respectable. Better than Powertech replacement IMO.

I have tried Powertech blades. These will probably last longer. I have also used Infinity Blades, they are much better. Thicker, longer, but a lot more money. I think you can even get away with sharpening Infinity blades once or twice (this destroys the depth of cut sensors as they can't be adjusted). I'll try to sharpen my Infinity and Dewalt blades. I've read that the key is to remove as little material as possible and do all three operations evenly. Just take a look. Powertech blades woreโ€ฆ

The base blade is VERY SHARP!

I've read some reviews about Freud's blades being dull and Freud not caring. This surprises me because I haven't had any luck with their products and service. However, it bothered me enough that I chose Dewalt. It appeared to be a risk free purchase. These blades are SHARP! I could feel it, but I also saw them with my loupe, which I use for sharpening and teaching. Even the square edges are insanely well finished. My plane hums like it's new on its own and the extra blades make me send it in to

Best deal I've found on genuine parts

Went to the local hardware store and they told us they "could" order it and it would come in Will arrive one or two weeks.Price?$70.Maybe we were dealing with incompetence? But I tried online and found them for less than $50 and shipped within 2 days. This is the only table planer that I've ever owned so can't really compare but I chose this model because the knives are reversible and built in so they can't be damaged, however this means you can't sharpen them I agree to that because these knives

Broke after 4 boards

I love my Dewalt planner. However, after the installation of 4 white spruce 2x6 boards, the sheet had already flaked off on the left side. A bit disappointed but I understand that things like this happen. And yes, I know they can be rotated. I was hoping for a slightly better result than 4 soft pieces of wood and then chipped. I was lucky that it was far enough to the left that I could run the boards from the right to erase the line behind the chip. I would buy and will buy again as they areโ€ฆ
