Review on Lansky 2D2C Diamond Ceramic Four: Ultimate Sharpening Solution for Precision by Michael Wilson

A quick way to sharpen a very dull knife

I'm obsessed with getting my knives razor sharp, but sometimes I need something more portable than my larger diamond stone, ceramic shaft and belt strap. I have several Lansky boxes with two (coarse and fine) ceramic rods. This set is designed for situations where you have a really dull blade and want to sharpen faster than you would need for rough ceramics. This "set" is missing a crude ceramic wand, so I hope Lansky will one day create a box that will hold all three sets of wands. Follow the instructions that come with the kit and in most cases you will be able to put a very good edge on a regular field knife (hunting or fishing). in less than 5 minutes. Here's a tip for those who aren't happy with an edge until it's been ground to a smooth, polished edge. Attach the sleeve to the back of the box and everything is in one place when you need it. I also have a Lansky kit with alignment rods somewhere, but I haven't used it since I bought my first box kit. It works great too, but it's no better than those kits and it takes a lot more time.
