Overall: This is a great product and a great choice. This product is MUCH SAFER to use than the commercially available fluffy polyester hut. I have 2 green cheeked kennels and they love this cozy seaweed hut. One bird was a bit afraid to use it at first, but that same bird had never experienced a shelter in its cage before... and after leaving the product in the cage for a week, the bird that was a little scared of the shelter initially also warmed up, and now my two green-cheeked kennels fit easily in the hut and happily crawl into the hut for a nap or a bit of chewing. This particular seagrass hut is small and I'm not sure if they sell a "large" version. So I'm pretty sure any small to medium sized bird such as budgerigars, cockatiels and cockatiels will fit in this product. This product is definitely not for adult gray parrots or macaws unless they are small children (and will eventually outgrow this shack). The only downside to this product that I can think of (and still not a problem for me) is that when your bird chews on this toy, there is a structural wire in the toy holding it together, at that point I don't think the bare wire is safe and you should just throw away the used toy and get a new one. Advice to other bird owners: This product CAN encourage some nesting behavior, especially if you are keeping two birds in the same cage. If you want to try and avoid this I still highly recommend this product but I just won't cover it with anything like a small towel and I won't put bedding in a cozy hut and I wouldn't put the hut in corner hutches to make it look like there's "three walls" around it... hopefully this cozy cabin will feel less like a nest and more like a great place to hide, snuggle, and sleep. . No promises but a product like this can stimulate any behavior in birds as they are all different. Nonetheless, I recommend all bird/parrot owners to try this product. If that doesn't work, the worst scenario is to return it, donate it, or sell it, or maybe try again later to see if your birds' opinions of the product have changed. I will also reiterate that this bird hut is SAFE but still not perfect, and nothing is quite perfect as this cozy hut uses natural seagrass instead of using fluffy polyester fibers in the alternative cozy hut (which is NOT safe). As far as I know not a single bird has died or gotten sick in this seagrass hut and a VERY large bird supply store near my house only sells this seagrass hut and always advises people NOT to buy fluffy polyester hutches. Hut. The competitor's fluffy cozy polyester house has fibers that can *literally* KILL your bird if it tries to eat lots of polyester fibers. Be aware that the polyester fibers will get stuck in your bird's intestines and the bird will not be able to spit them out (this is especially bad for small/medium sized birds) and if your bird eats a lot of the polyester fibers (found in the product), your Bird dying from having its intestines clogged with these fibers... Birds eating polyester fibers from the 'other' cozy house are REALLY DEAD and you don't want to be the person who killed your bird with good intentions and a simple and avoidable mistake. As with ANY toy. Make sure you watch your bird with her to make sure he doesn't hurt himself with her. Especially before leaving the toy in the birdcage 24/7 when you're not around. Watch all their activities. To other reviewers who gave this product less than 5 stars: I think this bird house is fantastic. let's be real You must know what you are buying before you buy it and you must also know the nature of birds in general; and I'll talk about that briefly. The same scenario applies if you buy any other bird product. People downvoting this item because their bird is scared of the item OR because their bird tore it up. YES, REALLY?. Will you blame this type of product on your bird's temperament? EVERY BIRD HAS ITS UNIQUE PERSONALITY! Some people are afraid of the color red, some are afraid of round objects with small holes etc. etc. Some birds like crunches and other birds don't like crunches etc. Because your bird is afraid, why downgrade this product? ? This? I personally believe that you got what you paid for when the product itself arrived as described and in good condition. If your bird hates it, it's not really the product's fault lol. You could probably buy 30 other wildly different bird toys and your bird might hate any (or all) of them for any number of reasons. Also, it is a natural seagrass toy! Your bird can chew it. So what! ALL BIRDS love to chew and grind! (If you want to argue with my wording "all birds" let's say most birds like to chew and shred). It is quite natural for birds to use their beaks to search for food, play and shred this device. Let's get back to reality. Do you want to discredit this product because it is a natural grass toy that allows your bird to play, sleep and rest, as well as chew and enjoy the product inside and on the surface? Buy them something hard and uncomfortable like plastic or potentially dangerous cold uncomfortable metal plates (sarcasm). ...but I doubt your bird will enjoy it as much as a cozy cabin like this particular seaweed product. distance t future.
