First the lightbulb came in a nice package and I was very happy to try it out on my baby bearded dragon. I installed a Fluker Sun Dome bulb directly over a branch that was heating up. The bulb itself is very bright and produces a decent amount of heat, which my kite liked. However, after a few days of use, I noticed that my dragon always kept its eyes closed when bathing (see photo 1) and only opened them when I took it into the bath. It went like this for about 10 days. After some research on the forums I realized that this is not normal behavior and someone suggested it might be due to the UV output from the lamp. I replaced that bulb with a regular 100 watt heat lamp plus an additional ReptiSun 10 for UV light and now my dragon is active and alert as it warms up with its eyes open (see photo 2).
