Bar None, the best colored pencils I've ever used!

I know there are a lot of people who think spending that kind of money on crayons is a waste of money and it's all fair depending on how serious you are it with your mine work and the quality of your work. Well maybe you are right. If you just want a cheap crayon set to play with, especially since adult coloring is becoming so popular, you can buy a Crayola crayon set for around $5 to $10. That being said, if you are really serious about your work and want the highest quality, make no mistake, spending this kind of money on crayons is worth every last penny. Many of the great techniques you can do with colored pencils aren't possible with even cheaper pencils. Things like layering, shading etc. I personally started with Prismacolor pencils as they are a good medium quality pencil and much more affordable than your high end pencils like Faber Castell and Caran d'Ache. I went to art school for photography, but I also really enjoy drawing and have been doing it most of my life, although I didn't really take it seriously until I went to art school. Almost everyone in the drawing department uses Prismacolor pencils and Copic markers, so my first big set of colored pencils was of course Prismacolor. These are great pens and I still use Prismacolor pens from time to time, but over time I became interested in learning more about other brands and started to switch to higher quality brands like Faber Castell and Caran d'Ache experimenting and I am very grateful that my curiosity led me to do so as the difference in quality between mid and high end pencils is really something to look at. Yes, they're expensive, but once you start using them, you'll see the difference in quality first hand. Well, chances are you'll buy more instead of looking back and regretting the money spent. Of all the colored pencils I've tested, my favorite is without a doubt Caran d'Arch Luminance. I also really like Faber Castell Polychromos, but the Caran d'Ache Luminance line is the line I use when I need the highest possible quality. The pigments are just absolutely beautiful and feel perfectly smooth, not too hard and not too soft. .Honestly, even if you only want to color for adults, I would recommend trying at least a few of these pens. You can buy them individually at various art stores like Dick Blick, so you don't have to spend a fortune to buy a small set of primary colors. I'll admit that even I liked some of the adult coloring pages that came out. I'm a big fan of comics and I really enjoyed Marvel Civil War Coloring Book and DC Batman Hush Coloring Book. And yes, I used my more expensive pens for that too. Conclusion: Caran d'Ache Luminance pencils are in my opinion the best colored pencils on the market and I've tested pretty much every brand I've come across. last 10 years. The pigment is amazing and they really feel perfectly smooth. The lead is perfectly connected to the wood by the pencil, which is actually made of Californian cedar, so that pieces of lead do not fall out, as is the case with cheaper pencils. I highly recommend learning how to hand sharpen pencils if you intend to use them. Electric sharpeners will gnaw through them very quickly. The only downside to these pens is that once you get used to the quality, it's very difficult to go back to the cheaper brands.
